A browser that defies censorship

Upon successful download of FreeBrowser, tap “Install” when prompted, or locate the file, and then click freebrowser.apk to install. If the prompt box disappears, you can download the file again.

Because the H.264 video decoder is a paid commercial resource, the free and open source Chromium project cannot use it directly, so FreeBrowser may not be able to play some online videos. Most video websites do not use just H.264 encoding. YouTube, for example, also uses VP8, VP9 and other encodings, but the deployment time is slightly slower than H.264, so when you encounter a recently updated video that cannot be played, just wait for a few hours and it should play normally. Another situation may be that the proxy server of the video website sometimes fails. If you cannot play the video for several days, please send us feedback and we will respond as soon as possible.
